Research Internship - Golden Product (NXP)
Overview:
NXP Manufacturing IT– Team Manufacturing IT Nijmegen implements, develops, and maintains IT solutions that enables the semiconductor factory ICN8 to run their operations effectively and efficiently and to continuously improve their performance.
The fabrication of semiconductors is complex and challenging, has long production lead times (up to 4 months), the production facility contains many very complex tools and during production a huge amount of data is generated. In our big data analytics journey so far, we have built a Big Data cluster (Hadoop) with over 400 billion production quality records. With these records we want to investigate if we can increase yield by adjusting production parameters.
Your Responsibilities:
- You will be working on the development of a model to analyze the correlation lot quality and production data aiming at predicting product quality.
- This model will then be used to determine adjustments in the production parameters that will increase yield.
- You will be working in the Manufacturing (MFG) IT Data Analytics Team at NXP-Nijmegen
- Apply Data analytics and machine learning in a complex fabrication process.
- Present the solution and results towards IT and the yield and process engineers.
Your profile:
- Result oriented.
- Effective communication skills.
- Good analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of various machine learning models and its applications.
- Understanding of different data sets and how to process them for usage for a machine learning model.
- Solid mathematical background.
- You are an enrolled master student Data Science/AI or another relevant master, during the entire internship.
- Enthusiastic and showing initiative.
- Able to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Project approach (mindset) with can do-attitude.
- Good communication in English and/or Dutch. Dutch is not required, but it is a pre.
For the internship a standard allowance of ca. €500,-/month (on fulltime basis) applies.
